General Meeting Agenda
|
The October General Meeting agenda will include a short address by each of the candidates for County Commissioner; a presentation by Nancy McClintock from the City on the Barton Creek Sediment Pollution Plan; recommendations from the BHNA Nominations Committee for 2003 BHNA officers; reports from Anna Bryan-Borja on the recent Pedestrian Audit, from Glee Ingram on the planned Greenbelt Cleanup, from Craig Smith on status of work on the Neighborhood Handbook, from Debby Kalk on the progress by the Safe Routes to School grant application task team, and from Mark Gentle on the Austin City Limits festival in Zilker Park in September.
|
Actions | For the October General Meeting, Robin will invite candidates for County Commissioner and Nancy McClintock. The Executive Committee will email Robin any questions for Nancy McClintock, and Robin will provide them to McClintock before the meeting. Robin will appoint a Nominations Committee charged with providing a slate of candidates for BHNA officer positions by the October General Meeting. |
Meeting Signs |
Two of three BHNA meeting signs have disappeared. For the October meeting, we will use the elementary school marquee. |
Actions | Robin will contact Carl Newsome about new signs, and Mark and Howie will try to find some campaign-style signs on stakes. |
Newsletter Assignments | Howie will produce the October newsletter, which will include at least the following articles: election dates, candidates, and early voting (Robin); the recent Pedestrian Audit (Anna Bryan-Borja); the 4th of July Parade (Jennifer Stuart and Howie); the Horseshoe Bend Garden Club (Yates Barreda); the National Bone Marrow Donor Program (Nancy Neuse); Honorable Mentions (Sue Borel). All article drafts must be sent to Howie by October 4th. Rafael will provide labels and stamps, and the Executive Committee will fold and stamp between the 10th and 12th, with Howie to mail newsletters no later than the 15th. |
Other Business | Robin will follow up with Carl Newsome on his proposal for BHNA to participate in a landscaping plan for Barton Hills Elementary School.
The Executive Committee approved Jamy Kazanoff to set up a table at the back of the October General Meeting to sell Barton Hills Elementary School T-shirts. The Executive Committee declined to commit BHNA to sell post cards for a Dove Springs youth group but suggested that the sponsoring neighbor post a notice on the neighborhood listserve. |
